Debian on the WGT634U

24 08 2006

Debian GNU/LinuxThanks to the HowTo by Martin Michlmayr I accidentally stumbled upon around half an hour ago, I am succesfully running Debian on my Netgear WGT634U now. The root file system is on a 256 MB Lexar SD card inside a Sharkoon Flexi-Drive XC. This is a small form factor USB card reader which is connected to the unit's USB port. Everything else is set up as described by Martin in the HowTo. I flashed the Kernel to /dev/mtd2 and installed the SSH server Dropbear directly afterwards. That's pretty much it at the moment. The unit loads the Kernel from flash and boots the system from the SD card. After that I can log in via SSH and play around.
Many thanks, Martin, for sharing your knowledge and providing the Kernel and root file system tarball!
